Abstract
Aims: The authors present a case of urinary bladder cavernous hemangioma and discuss the clinical and pathological features of this entity.
Case Presentation: We report a solitary bladder cavernous hemangioma occuring in a 19-year-old man. The patient presented with macroscopic hematuria. Radiologic findings revealed an intravesical exophytic tumor. Cystoscopy revealed a sessile, reddish mass, measuring 2 cm in diameter located in the right sided wall of the bladder. Endoscopic resection of the mass was performed and the pathologic examination revealed a cavernous hemangioma. No recurrence was noted at the 3-year follow-up.
Conclusion: Hemangioma is a benign vascular tumor accounting for about 0.6% of bladder tumors. Its prognosis is generally good but a long follow-up observance is mandatory to detect recurrence or residual disease.
